Edge Device
Our 1U server is built with powerful hardware that run our event detection AI and can be easily installed in your building's server room.

Overview
Once we have a better understanding of the number of streams and network capabilities, we will be able to ship you a suitable edge device. This can be a NUC for cloud-based deployments or an on-prem 1U/2U GPU rackmount server. The edge device establishes a connection with your network via ethernet and exclusively transmits outbound data. Once installed on site and a connection is established our NUC will encrypt and send your streams over our VPN directly to our cloud 24/7. From there our cloud will infer your camera's streams to detect any incidents and send them to our validators. Once our validators reviews that the incident is not a false positive an alert will be sent to you. Our On-Prem devices connect directly to your camera network and using their GPUs can infer your streams onsite. Then once an incident is detected it will send that data and video to our cloud where our validators will review the data.

Connecting the Edge Device
Server installation is simple, for a 1U/2U edge device, mount the server to your rack then connect power. For a NUC, place the device in a suitable location and connect it's power. Once your edge device is powered on, connect an ethernet to your camera network. If your camera network does not have internet access you will need to run a second ethernet to a network with internet access. Ensuring you have opened access to the ports listed here to allow our server to establish a connection. Contact your VOLT AI point-of-contact to continue setup.
In the event you need an On-Prem device, but do not have the rack space to accommodate it we can provide a vertical wall mount to hold our 1U server.(This cannot hold our 2U server)
If your network doesn't allow us to rely on DHCP, please contact us at help@volt.ai.
