Escalation Path

Validator Discretion

Our validators receive alerts throughout the day, only events that meet the criteria below will be escalated to assigned first responders (your security team and/or emergency services). Our validators will review the footage to determine escalation. They will use their discretion for edge cases, but err on the side of caution to ensure the safety of everybody.

[Rule] Person Down

A person fallen to the floor will trigger this rule, people lounging will not.

Cases we alert for: when a person is lying flat on the ground.

Cases we don't alert for: people lounging on a chair to take a break, people doing yoga in the fitness center, people sitting against a wall.

Recommended Uses: VOLT recommends applying this rule facility-wide.

[Rule] Weapons

Holstered weapons on uniformed officers will not be escalated. All other scenarios will be escalated.

Weapons we alert for: firearms and bladed weapons.

Weapons we don't alert for: blunt instruments (golf clubs, baseball bats, etc.).

Recommended Uses: VOLT recommends applying this rule facility-wide.

[Rule] Fight

Two or more people fighting will trigger this rule.

Recommended Uses: VOLT recommends applying this rule facility-wide.

[Rule] People

A minimum or maximum number of people in a given area can be enforced by this rule and configured in the portal.

Cases we alert for: person(s) in camera frame.

Recommended Uses:

  • Trespassing (ex. 1 or more people in an area off-hours)

  • Enforcing minimum/maximum occupancy in rooms/areas (ex. 2 or more people in server room)

  • Crowd forming (ex. 15 or more people)

[Rule] Moving Vehicle

A moving vehicle will trigger this rule, an idle vehicle will not.

Vehicles we alert for: cars, trucks, and golf karts.

Vehicles we don't alert for: bicycles, motorcycles, bulldozers, etc.

Recommended Uses:

  • Trespassing (ex. moving vehicle in parking lot off-hours)

  • Vehicle in restricted area (ex. moving vehicle on new grass)

[Rule] Object Left Behind

An object remaining idle for 60 seconds will trigger this rule, this duration can be adjusted in the portal.

Objects we alert for: backpacks, suitcases, duffel bags.

Objects we don't alert for: boxes, buckets, shopping bags, tool boxes, etc.

Recommended Uses: Objects left in lobby areas.

[Rule] People Loitering

People in a given area for a specified duration, adjustable in the portal, will trigger this rule.

Cases we alert for: person(s) in camera frame.

Recommended Uses:

  • Person waiting in lobby for 15+ minutes.

  • Vandalism (ex. person loitering for 5+ mins on exterior cam).

  • Person waiting in elevator lobby for 5+ minutes.

[Rule] Vehicle Loitering

A vehicle in a given area for a specified duration, adjustable in the portal, will trigger this rule.

Vehicles we alert for: cars and trucks.

Vehicles we don't alert for: bicycles, motorcycles, golf carts, bulldozers, etc.

Recommended Uses: Vehicles parked in an area not designated for pick-ups.

[Rule] Zero Occupancy

An area with 0 people detected for a specified duration of time, adjustable in the portal, will trigger this rule.

Recommended Uses: Hospitality/Security desks that require 1 or more people to be present.
